DITTO to the SAND

Avec « DITTO to the Sand », je m’autorise à un croisement. J’invite mes enfants à partager un espace de création.

Je laisse derrière moi les errances solitaires pour tracer ensemble de nouveaux chemins, tous les trois.

Je mets en scène les tensions qui me lient à eux et à mon travail. Et je conjugue ce que je pensais jusqu'à lors inconjugable…

Ensemble, nous partageons le même espace, dans lequel chacun est occupé à sa propre tâche.

Je travaille.

Je tourne pendant 25 minutes, peut-être plus. Je ne m’arrête pas, je persévère.

Parfois, James tourne aussi. Il apprend par imitation.

Je les observe, je les ignore.

Ils m’observent, ils m’ignorent.

Je danse, je tourne.

Ils s’appliquent à leurs dessins, s’entraident, discutent entre eux, se déplacent dans l’espace qu'ils s'approprient pleinement.

Ils sont visibles.

« Ditto to the sand » est un refuge, un lieu de rencontre, un espace de partage et de transmission où nous pouvons célébrer notre lien tout en reconnaissant les défis qui l’accompagnent.

"Marion Carriau decides to show her sons—and it’s a powerful image. They stick coloured strips onto the stage, then James, the youngest, starts spinning round and round, then Leon starts spinning round his mother, and then they leave her to get on with her work, whilst staying close by. She mimics James’s movement. Marion spins. In the midst of the spiral, she yields nothing to the confusion of the movement. Everything is precise, measured to the millimetre, striving towards that pinnacle where the body becomes an image, almost a kinetic sculpture. It is this very rigour—relentless, almost maniacal—that makes possible this unsettling plasticity of the living.”
