La Boucle des Secrets
Bonfire, Hide Your Joy and There’s Joy have been the intergalactic agents of joy since the dawn of time.
However, over the last few decades, Bonfire has fallen into a deep depression, no longer able to bear the gloom of the adults on Earth. So, as her laughter turned to tears, the light vanished from their world, and Feu de joie buried herself and hid beneath a shell made of the cushions – pebbles that had until then formed the soft layer on the floor of their home. Everything grew dark. Despite the daily efforts of Hide Your Joy and There’s Joy to get their sister back on her feet, nothing worked: Joy Fire had lost herself in the labyrinth of sadness. Today, there is only one solution available to the agents to rediscover the glow: to enlist the absolute experts in joy on Earth: children! They are the ones who hold the ultimate recipes for happiness and who will be able to rescue Feu de Joie.
The children, both performers and audience members in a show in the making, are set to embark on an adventure filled with clues, dances, whispers and celebrations. Their mission: to bring a smile back to Feu de Joie’s face and invite her to gradually rekindle the light in the world, by sharing with her their very best secret recipes for joy.
In a ‘communication tube’, the children are invited to define and describe what their joy feels like, to link this emotion to a physical experience, and to identify where it is located within them, its colour, texture and shape…
La Boucle des secrets is a hybrid space, situated somewhere between an installation, a performance and a choreographed game space.
